KIESER LAWSON WISH
Born in December of 1825, to a well-to-do family of physicians, Kieser was the youngest of two children and the less favored of the two. Spoiled nonetheless, he grew up with the emergence of new technology during the industrial age. His father was a notable pioneer in the medical field who made a point of pushing the profession on Kieser and his elder brother Heath. During his childhood in it's entirety, he was educated by a tutor, learning essential math and science, but early on took an affinity for English and languages. He went on to learn various languages, including but not limited to: French, German, and Swedish- fluently. He and his brother Heath were often at odds during their childhood, their usual spats typically ending with the mention of Kieser's lesser popularity with their parents. Shortly after Kieser's sixteenth birthday, Heath, then aged twenty, died of cholera while studying to follow in his father's footsteps.
Following the death of his brother, Kieser experienced varying degrees of neglect and unwarranted punishment from his parents who very commonly cursed him for being the one of the two that lived. He decided shortly after being accepted to Eton College to move into his own flat overlooking the river Thames. Aged twenty-one now, he was studying English and Literature in hopes of becoming an accomplished writer, and supported himself with the trust-fund entitled to him, and his family's estate following the passing of his father, and his mother shortly after. They, ironically, were also taken by cholera during the second cholera pandemic.
Young and distressed, Kieser very frivolously spent his money throwing large parties, under the agenda of 'building connections' but mostly to hide away his grief by constantly placing himself in the public eye. It was when he shut himself away that he put himself in danger. On a cold night during February of 1848, just two months after his twenty-second birthday, Kieser left his well-furnished suite in the dead of the night to take a short walk after not having been able to sleep. Ten minutes after leaving his apartment, he was brutally attacked: His throat was slashed, albeit not deep enough to kill him quickly. His attacker was abruptly thrown against the wall, dying instantly. As he choked on his own blood, his arm was inflamed with a ghastly burning sensation that made the pain in his throat swell exponentially. His own blood scorched and his body felt as if it were blistering from the inside out, the heat tearing through each individual vein until it engulfed his senses. After the burn came the freeze, a cold both welcoming and harsh simultaneously swept through his vessels and made a home in his heart.
When he finally recovered, he was alone in a warehouse with nothing but a change of clothes and a terrible thirst aching in his throat. Kieser immediately searched for a way out, intoxicated by bloodlust, and quenching his thirst briefly on an unsuspecting woman who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Shortly afterwards he was detained by the vampire responsible for his transformation. He was kept from wreaking absolute mayhem on the citizens of London by this unnamed vampire, and was taught to sustain himself on other substitutes. Slowly but surely he began reaching a degree of self control, but was never reintroduced to the public eye. For all Londoners knew, the last of the Wish family had died mysteriously.
Years later, during the 1888 Whitechapel murders, he and his vampire mentor had discovered that the string of murders were being conducted by a stray coven. Seeking to protect London from the rogue coven, the pair took it upon themselves to put a stop to the killings. Their mission took a turn for the violent very quickly. After encroaching upon the small, four man coven's location, they were ambushed. Kieser was able to dispatch and burn two of the vampires, but his mentor was killed by one of the others. He neutralized one of the two of them, but the final rogue got the jump on him and tore a long, ragged scar into the base of his throat. Shortly after, he regained the upper hand and snuffed him out.
With his teacher gone, Kieser sought to continue his education. He spent a great many years studying and learning all that he could, including a couple more languages. From the mid to late 1900s, he spent a good deal of time traveling and getting to know his fellow immortals. Slowly becoming more trusting of himself around humans, he recently recieved a license to teach and has been teaching for a few months at his home away from home, Eton College- though he travels between Eton and Oxford teaching collegiate English. As of about a month ago, mysterious deaths have surfaced on and between the two campuses. Kieser's 'self control' may not be as strong as he had previously thought.
